Moti Mahal alias Palace of Pearls is situated near Hazratganj
on the banks of Gomati River. Built by Nawab Saadat Ali Khan (1798 and
1814), the palace is one of the most beautiful monuments of India. There
are two other buildings - the Shah Manzil and the Mubarak Manzil at the
left and right side of Moti Mahal, built by Ghazi-ud-din Haider that comprise
the whole construction. These three buildings were used by the Nawabs
to observe animal fights and birds flight from the balconies. The complex
consist of a beautiful garden with fountains, statues, rose plants , pomegranate,
lemon and orange trees. The beautiful lawn is used for organizing exhibitions,
parties, marriage functions, etc. At present the palace is preserved by
the concerned authorities.
