Rock Garden
Malampuzha Rock Garden, inaugurated in 1996, is described as a unique cultural
and artistic resource. It is the first rock garden in South India and the second
one in the country after the Chandigarh Rock
Garden. Though not built under
the direct supervision of Indian sculptor and environmental builder, Nek Chand,
it has many features similar to the artist's original rock garden in
Chandigarh. The garden is made of unwanted and broken pieces of bangles,
tiles, used plastic cans, tins and other waste materials.
Snake Park
Started in 1984, this state government owned park is a major attraction
for tourists and snake lovers. The park's large collection of various specious
of snake, includes rare species like Forsten Cat snake, King cobra and
Brown vine Snake.
Silent Valley National Park
Set up in the year 1984, Silent Valley National Park spread over an area
of 89.52 km is located in the north east corner of Palakkad district. Located
around 40kms from Mannarkkad in the Palakkad district, it is one of the most
magnificent gifts of nature to mankind. The dense forest in the valley called
'Sairandhri Vanam' and the river Kunthi give a mythological dimension to the

Fantasy Park
Fantasy Park, the first amusement park of Kerala is located near the Malampuzha
garden in an area of 8 acres. Managed by Neotech Amusements and Resorts Ltd.,
the park has a fabulous landscape with gardens and fountains and about 20 fun-filled
thrilling rides. Fantasy park provides a special section with games and rides
specially designed for kids. Baby Train, Water Kiddy Ride, Mini Tele Compact,
Battery Car are some of them. Besides these enthralling rides, within the park
there is a hygienic restaurant and ice cream parlour.
Thread Garden
Adjacent to the Fantasy Park, is the amazing thread garden designed by
Mr. Antony Joseph. It has an abundant collection of charming life size replicas
of birds, animals and plants. Housed in a large indoor glass chamber, these
models are made of colored embroidery threads without using needles or any special
devices.
Loknayak JP Smrithi Vanam and
Deer Park
Loknayak JP Smrithi Vanam and Deer Park, located about 22 kms from Palakkad,
is an extension of the Walayar reserve forest. The protected area under the deer
park provides opportunities to visitors to observe the graceful animals moving
freely in their natural habitat. There is also facilities for elephant rides.
Cholanoor Peacock Sanctuary
Cholanoor Peacock Sanctuary is located in Mayiladumpara which is about
30kms from Palakkad. The place is renowned as a grove, abundant in peacocks.Top
