Hill Station
The state government has developed a beautiful
place as a hill station near Saputara a village in Dangs district in south
Gujarat about 975 metres above the sea level. The place has good rainfall
and cool and healing climate. It is a full-fledged hill station with all
the modern amenities, such as a swimming pool, a theatre , a stadium,
a museum housing folk instruments and folk costumes , a circuit house,
up-to-date hotels, holiday homes, dormitories , market places, private
hutments and villas. The spot is about 112 Km from Bilimora on the western
railway. It can also be approached from Bombay via Nasik which is about
80 Km from it.
Holiday Homes
Gujarat has an extensive coastline and many hills with
scenic beauty. At some of these beautiful spots, the state government has
established holiday homes. To these homes low income people can go with
their families and enjoy their vacation. The holiday homes at Tithal in
Bulsar district , at Ubharat near Navsari in Surat district and at Chorvad
in Junagadh district are on the seaside, while the holiday home at the
Pavagadh is on the hill top. The holiday home at Tulsi Shyam
is in the heart of the Gir forest. Tulsi Shyam is known for its hot
springs and therefore serves as a health resort.
Health Resort
The state has a number of hot springs, the water
of which are held to have medicinal value. These serve as health resorts
and persons suffering from gout and rheumatism avail themselves of the
waters of these hot springs for treatment. These hot springs are at Tulsi
Shyam in Gir forest,Unai in Bulsar district, Tuwa near Godhra in the
Panchmahals district and at Lasundra in Kaira district.
